Expressing
care doesn't mean you have to know the exact words to say, or the
correct thing to do. It may be as simple as a touch, a hug, or a
smile. Today, more than ever, we as God's people need to show care
and kindness towards everyone, everywhere, everyday.
Join us this spring at the International Conference
on Care & Kindness and let us show you what it
means to Just Show Up.

The annual gathering presents speakers and workshops on a wide variety of topics designed to equip and inspire
greater expressions of compassion and loving action in everyday
life.
Informational seminars on topics such as Alzheimer's, cancer, depression and diabetes enlighten caring people about those
with these challenges. Skill building workshops like "Listening,"
"Visiting the Sick," "Story Telling," "Basic
Care Tactics" and more, equip for improved helping. Inspirational
speakers spark fresh enthusiasm in God's people for giving of themselves
to the challenged and troubled.
Dr.
James R. Kok has been the Pastor of Care Ministries at the Crystal Cathedral
since 1984. His passion to respond to the needs of hurting people
and his desire to mobilize the laity by inspiring, teaching and
motivating God's people has given birth to the International Conference on Care and
Kindness.
"The Miracle of Kindness" is the title of a
book he authored and is available through our website or in the
Crystal Cathedral Bookstore.
What You Can Do

- Thank those who serve you - nurses, waitresses, car wash folks, cashiers, security staff. Telephone or write a note of concern to an old friend or relative.
- Listen carefully after you ask "how are you
T H E V I S I O N
The vision we see is followers of Jesus reaching out to colleagues, friends, neighbors, strangers and kinfolk in ways that go beyond what is typical today.
We see people transcending the timidity, apprehension and lack of
confidence that keeps them - and the rest of humankind - at arms
length from those who are hurting or in some way traveling over
rough waters.
1. Everyone needs my encouragement and support; and to be noticed personally and respectfully by me.
2. I have the capacities, qualities and abilities that can brighten
another's life, or help them to face tough challenges.
3. Care and Kindness, whether it's my smile, a word of thanks, a
visit or treating another fairly, builds hope in that person's heart
and opens them to God's love.
4. Care and Kindness toward another is Care and Kindness to The
Lord.
5. Care and Kindness is infectious. Others catch it.
