Systems Engineer

Location: Garden Grove, CA

Employment Status: Full Time

Summary: This position is responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of network communications. The incumbent uses knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to install internal and external networks. Tests and trouble shoots network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements. Provides multi-campus end user support for network related issues.

• Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for maintaining Microsoft Windows Server functionality, including creating/modifying user accounts, security groups and email accounts
• Assigns security permissions to network resources, configuring network printers, troubleshooting hubs, switches and related cabling
• Performs preventative maintenance on Microsoft Windows servers
• Document, track and monitor problems ensuring they are resolved or escalated to Senior Systems Engineer in a timely fashion
• Act as backup support for the help desk staff in daily operations as required
• Be fully responsible for backup system
• Complete server-related projects

• Education/Experience:
• A minimum of a high school graduate or completion of equivalent trade school curriculum
• Must possess CompTia A+ Certification
• MCP in Windows 2000/2003, or an MCSE in Windows 2003 preferred
• In addition, must have 2+ years of experience in PC support
• 1+ years of Windows server support

• Must possess excellent inter-personal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must possess the aptitude and attitude for service to the user community
• Be capable of working in a team environment
