Manager of Facilities
Location: Rancho Capistrano (San Juan Capistrano, CA)
Employment Status: Full-time
Summary: This position is responsible for managing the Housekeeping and Event Set-Up Departments under the direction of the Director of Facilities. This is a “hands-on” working manager position. The incumbent will have to perform staff duties from time to time, while managing the staff. These responsibilities are meant to meet the goals and objectives related to campus facilities. A team management relationship between the AM and PM managers is required to ensure continuity and consistency of job duties between the two shifts.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create and manage staff schedules to meet budgetary projections
- Hire and train staff
- Ensure laundry room and contents are organized
- Responsible for inventory of linen and maintenance of equipment
- Responsible for completing, collection and distributing Housekeeping/Operations documents
- Responsible for the set-up needs of Ranch events and on campus functions
- Responsible for the inventory, storage and maintenance of all set-up equipment
- Providing support to the Food Service Department
- Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma
- Previous management experience
- Previous experience in the hospitality industry as it relates to the facilities departments
- Knowledge of proper use of the Laundry equipment and chemicals.
- Comprehensive knowledge of aspects of the Housekeeping Department/Operations
- Working knowledge of all aspects of the Set-up department and Operations.
- Abilities/Skills:
- Must be able to work the minimum hours required for the position, along with being flexible enough to work additional hours as needed by use of the facilities
- Facilitate rapid response to guest needs as they relate to the Facilities Department
- Lead by example demonstrating team spirit and the ability to work with others forming partnerships to achieve common goals
- Ability to use a proactive approach to continuously improve the overall operation of the Facilities Department
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including bilingual
- Requires excellent management and customer service skills
- Must be Reliable and detail oriented
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and be able to carry this weight up and down stairs and grassy hills and/or carry the weight at least 50 yards
- Stand for long periods of time
- Walk up and down hills from on campus location to another
